A GROUP OF SIX ENAMELED PORCELAINS
Late Qing/Republic period
The first an export famille rose water bottle with a fitted lid from a
toilet set, painted figural reserves in a gilt dragon frame surrounded by
colorful flowering and leafy branches, butterflies, and scholars’ objects
(surface wear); the second a millefleur-decorated circular lidded box,
the recessed base bearing a Qianlong six-character mark in seal
script; the third and fourth similarly decorated in famille rose enamels
with densely painted flowers and leafy scrolls, one an egg-shell
porcelain baluster vase (hairline crack), the other a plate, both bearing
Qianlong marks to the undersides; and two rectangular lidded boxes,
one painted in famille verte enamels with flowers and birds on the side
walls and figures in a courtyard across the lid (lid and box possibly
married), the other enameled with figural reserves against a flower-and-
butterfly ground in the Rose Medallion export pattern (wear to enamels
and gilt paint).
