AN ENAMEL AND SILVER BOWL
By Hiratsuka Mohei, Meiji era (1868-1912),
late 19th/early 20th century
The deep circular body with a reticulated frieze
of tightly clustered chrysanthemum blossoms,
daffodil, peony, and rose, brightly decorated in
low relief with polychrome enamels, the neck
worked in silver-wire translucent cloisonné-
enamel with formal foliage, the interior fitted
with a silver liner, signed on the base with a
silver seal Hiratsuka.
