A jadeite pear-shaped wall vase
Late Qing/Republic period A Mughal style reticulated spinach jade box
The polished stone of gray tone with darker greenish inclusions and cover
formed as a pear-shaped wall vase, the bulbous body on one side Of rectangular form with scalloped walls, the convex top to the
carved in low relief with a two-horned chilong wrapping its body
around the vase with the bifurcated tail spreading over the neck cover intricately undercut and engraved with a flower and leaf border
flanked by two reticulated square scroll handles, the back carved flat
for wall mounting; mounted on a hanging wood stand. surrounding four reserves worked as pairs of stylized dragons facing
6 1/5in (16.5cm) high
$1,500 - 2,500 flaming pearls, the thin, solid walls of the conforming base and neatly
cut foot showing to advantage a translucent matrix of variegated leaf
green flecked with pin-point black inclusions.
