Three bolts of brocade-woven silk
Late Qing/Republic period
The first, and longest, of deep burnt orange ground, woven in polychrome
silk and fine silvery metal threads with a small-scale design of dragons
and clouds; the second woven with an orange and silvery metal thread
ground sprinkled with large-scale flowering branches worked in shades
of red, blue, white and green,; the third of olive green woven in fine silvery
metal threads with small scale phoenixes and flowering branches, the
base woven with the inscription Jiangnan zhizao chen qishi si.

A beige silk ground fan case with loop
stitch embroidery
Late Qing dynasty
Intricately worked in subtly colored silk and gilt-wrapped threads with
a bird and butterflies surrounding flowering branches on one side and
another butterfly and flowering branches combined with lingzhi fungus
and a grasshopper creeping toward orchids in bloom on the other side;
the pale celadon silk ribbon handle mounted with rose glass plaques.
