Of spindle shape with a slightly tapered cylindrical neck atop an ovoid
86 | BONHAMS body, all raised atop a slightly recessed base centered by the mark
within a square cartouche, the glass of olive hue with numerous areas
of crizzling, air bubbles and production flaws.

A rare orange glass brush washer imitating realgar
18th century
Of compressed globular shape tapering inward toward the wide foot
and shallow recessed base, the swirling changes in color from pale
yellow-orange across the base to dark orange on the interior achieved
by the merging of red and yellow glass that formed the matrix.

quarter cloth, the five pairs enclosed in cardboard and green cloth
protective cases stamped with the characters Tao Shuo; illustrating
the collections of Chinese art collected by William Thompson Walters
(1820-1894), now housed in the Walters Art Gallery, Baltimore,
Maryland; the text written by Stephen Wootton Bushell (1844-1908)
(fading and wear to the cases, toning to paper). [10]
