A LARGE YELLOW-GLAZED INCISED
‘DRAGON’ DISH
KANGXI SIX-CHARACTER MARK IN
UNDERGLAZE BLUE WITHIN A DOUBLE
CIRCLE AND OF THE PERIOD (1662-1722)
The dish is delicately incised to the centre of the
interior with a pair of sinuous dragons pursuing a
faming pearl, encircled by a band of various foral
sprays including lotus, chrysanthemum, prunus
and peony to the cavetto and a band of further
dragons and faming pearls to the rim. The exterior
is incised with further dragons chasing faming
pearls surrounded by a ring of cranes in fight and
scrolling clouds.

A YELLOW-GLAZED INCISED ‘FLORAL’
ARROW VASE
JIAJING PERIOD (1522-1566)
The pear-shaped vase is decorated with two
narrow tubular handles to the neck. The body is
incised to each side with a large peony bloom
growing from a leafy branch which encircles the
fowerhead. The neck is incised with a further
scroll design.
