A JADEITE ‘CHILONG’ TWIN-HANDLED VASE AND COVER
18TH-19TH CENTURY
The front of the vase is carved in high relief with two chilong dragons chasing
a faming pearl amidst scrolling clouds. The reverse is carved with further
clouds. The neck has a pair of handles carved as mythical beasts, each with
loose rings. The cover has a round fnial carved in the shape of a foral bud. The
stone is of a pale green tone with areas of dark greenish-brown and apple-
green.
