          A MAGNIFICENT SANCAI AND BLUE-GLAZED POTTERY FIGURE
          OF A GUARDIAN WARRIOR
          TANG DYNASTY (618-907)
          The guardian is modelled with an unglazed head which bears a ferce
          expression. His right hand is slightly raised and his left hand rests on his hip
          and he stands triumphantly on top of a demon with failing arms on a raised
          base. He is dressed in full armour with masked horned epaulettes at the
          shoulder, and is splashed in blue, amber, green and cream glazes.
