A BLUE AND WHITE ‘SANDUO’
HEXAGONAL VASE
19TH CENTURY
The vase is decorated to each face with single,
large upright boughs of the Three Abundances,
pomegranate, peach and persimmon, alternating
with fowering branches. The waisted neck is
decorated with smaller upright foral sprays
divided by arabesques and lotus sprays at the
angles. The rim and shoulder are decorated with
pendent ruyi bands. The base bears an apocryphal
Qianlong seal mark.

Each vase is decorated with plantain, bamboo

and rocks in a fenced garden. The waisted neck is
decorated with stif leaves rising up from a collar
of scrolling foliage and spearheads. The foot is
encircled with bands of lotus fowers and lappets.
