A TURQUOISE-GLAZED INCISED ‘DRAGON’ BOTTLE VASE
JIAQING SIX-CHARACTER INCISED SEAL MARK AND OF THE
PERIOD (1796-1820)
The vase is fnely incised to the globular body with two fve-clawed dragons
chasing the faming pearl amongst ruyi-head cloud scrolls, all above
tumultuous waves crashing on rocks at the foot. A further dragon is carved
coiled up the long neck below a classic scroll band at the rim. The vase is
covered in a fnely crackled deep turquoise glaze which pools at the incised
decoration.

KANGXI PERIOD (1662-1722)
The slender vase is decorated with two crisply-defned fxed-ring beast-head
handles to the shoulder. The body is incised with a pair of confronting dragons
amongst fames and cloud scrolls.
