A WHITE JADE ARCHAISTIC ‘TAOTIE’ TWIN-HANDLED VASE
AND COVER
QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
Each side of the vessel is carved with a large taotie pattern, below a pair of
elephant handles with loose rings. The cover has a shaped angular fnial. The
stone is of a pale tone with minor snowy and russet inclusions.
