An imperial embroidered yellow silk ground
throne seat cushion cover
Qing dynasty, 18th/19th century
Of horizontal rectangular format with rounded corner, finely worked
in couched gold threads and satin stich in various colors with
a central reserve framing nine five-clawed dragons undulating
through clouds surrounding the Buddhist emblems and auspicious
bats and peaches, above a typical border of terrestrial peaks and
crashing waves, the outer frieze with densely embroidery work of
leafy lotus scroll and bats; the reverse backed in yellow silk woven
with linzhi heads and floral roundels.

A rare embroidered dragon badge
Ming dynasty
The square-sectioned panel finely worked in silk threads of yellow,
red, blue and white coloration, depicting a large side-profiled dragon
with its jaw wide open, chasing a precious jewel above wave scrolls,
against a black silk satin ground.
