A yellow ground silk brocade dragon robe
18th/19th century
Finely woven in gold and multi-color threads with nine front-facing
five-clawed dragon roundels, each set amid cloud scrolls above
terrestrial diagrams rising from waves that repeat to the lower border
of the robe, the deep blue satin neck band and cuffs decorated with
additional dragons and applied en suite.

A large yellow ground brocade silk panel
Late Qing dynasty
Constructed from two narrow panels joined vertically down the center
and woven in shades of brown, blue, green and white with repeated
registers of young boys in elaborately brocaded costumes walking
separately or in pairs amid auspicious emblems set between narrow
bands of dragons and leiwen meanders that also repeat above four
alternating rows of phoenixes and peony branches that fill the field at
the top (minor wear); with later rust colored brocade backing.
