A delicately carved hardwood vase with fluted walls
Qing dynasty
The thin walls of quatrelobed section forming a body of pear shape
and narrow neck flaring outward toward the rim, the concave base
finished as a four-lobed blossom.

A zitan scroll box
18th/19th century
The rectangular cover carved in delicate relief with dragons chasing a
flaming pearl amid clouds and waves framed by a leiwen border and
the top displaying two dragons facing a vertical panel meant for a title
inscription; the base constructed with two lotus petal bands issuing
from the set-in waist carved with scrolls and florets, all beneath four
vertical corner mounts that keep the cover in place.
