An unusual nephrite scroll-form double
snuff bottle
Late 18th/19th century
Designed as a scroll rolled to form two conjoined bottles, one side
of the scroll carved with dense flower heads, the reverse decorated
with bamboo and a pine tree rising behind rocks; the off-white stone
revealing some russet and icy-white inclusions.

Well-hollowed, of compressed spherical form, flat rim, gently recessed
foot, executed from a white stone with a subtle grayish tinge, marked
with faint russet inclusions.

An amber snuff bottle
Late Qing dynasty
The rounded square bottle with a flared neck, flat rim, raised oval
foot, decoration around the side walls of an intriguing scene depicting
a scholar sitting in candlelight by the window of a house within a
courtyard in an atmospheric landscape filled with trees and rocks, a
young servant standing nearby, the shoulders of the bottle flanked
with two fierce-looking lion mask-form handles suspending faux rings.
