A FAHUA ‘IMMORTALS’ JAR, GUAN
MING DYNASTY, 17TH CENTURY
The jar is decorated with a garden scene depicting immortals
carrying various attributes, below the Eight Buddhist Emblems,
bajixiang, to the shoulder and a band of stylised cloud scrolls to the
neck. The decoration is executed in slip and glazed in turquoise,
yellow and mauve on a dark blue ground, with the interior glazed
green.

ZHENGDE PERIOD (1506-1521)
The brush rest is formed as a mountain range with fve peaks and
incised on the sides with a fower-head fanked by symbols.
