Of cylindrical form, carved to one side with a scene from the tale of the
Red Cliff, depicting scholars sitting and drinking tea in a sampan as two men
row the boat under pine trees through a rocky landscape, with a slightly
concave rim, all raised on three short feet, 17cm.

Provenance: from an English private collection, purchased in 1948.

The cylindrical body carved in shallow relief with pavilions and pagodas in a
mountainous landscape, with a mythical beast and a lotus flowerhead to the
