A TRANSPARENT PALE GREEN GLASS OVERLAY BUBBLE-
SUFFUSED SNUFF BOTTLE
1780-1850
Of spade shape with cylindrical neck, carved in high relief through a
pale green overlay with a praying mantis amidst scrolling tendrils and
pea-pods to one main face and with a grasshopper on large vegetal
leaves on the other, the rounded oval foot ring formed from the same
overlay, the misty bubble-suffused ground with a few swirls of green
and aubergine vapors.
