Born in 1962 in Hualien, Peng Kang-long
graduated from the Taipei National University
of the Arts in 1988 with a focus in ink painting.
Peng is a pioneer in contemporary ink paintings
in Taiwan, with works reflecting his novel
interpretation of spatial dimensions and
composition in traditional Chinese landscape
paintings. His signature brushstrokes give
tremendous life and energy to the trees and
flowers he paints, often densely packed with
lifeless rocks and mountains. Peng unleashes a
dynamic emotion through a coexistence of yin
and yang in his paintings.
