A DEHUA FIGURE OF SEATED GUANYIN
QING DYNASTY (1644-1911)
The figure is finely modelled seated with her right arm gently
placed on her raised right knee, her left elbow resting on an
armrest decorated with a mythical beast, while simultaneously
holding a ruyi scepter against her arm. She wears a voluminous
robe open at the chest to reveal a jewelled necklace, her downcast
face with serene expression beneath her crisply modelled hair.

A DEHUA FIGURE OF GUANYIN
QING DYNASTY, 19TH CENTURY
The graceful figure is crisply modelled standing barefoot on a base
of swirling clouds with the head turned to one side. The facial
features provide a serene expression, with eyes downcast, and
hair upswept in a topknot. The figure’s voluminous robes fall in
graceful folds around the body, the sleeves bunched at the wrist
revealing a delicate hand grasping a scroll.
