A HAIR-CRYSTAL WATER POT

18TH-19TH CENTURY
The water pot is fnely carved on the exterior with
double gourds issuing from leafy vines, with a
mantis and butterfy perched on the vine on the
rim, and with an additional gourd and leaf carved
on the interior. The pale greyish stone has black
rutile inclusions.

18TH-19TH CENTURY
The pendant is decorated with gold wire and inlaid
with diamonds, rubies, and emeralds with two
birds perched on the leaves of a fowering vase.
2 in. (5.1 cm.) wide, cloth box

A very similar Mughal jade pendant inlaid with
gold, diamonds and other gemstones is in the
Palace Museum, Beijing.
