A RARE AND UNUSUAL CARVED RED LACQUER-EMBELLISHED GREYISH-GREEN
JADE BOWL
18TH-19TH CENTURY
The bowl has gently rounded sides rising from the round foot to a slightly everted rim. The exterior is
covered in red lacquer and fnely carved with two dragons contesting a faming pearl amidst clouds above
a lappet border. The jade is of greyish-green tone.

A red lacquer-embellished spinach-green jade bowl, carved lotus blooms, and with a Qianlong
six-character seal mark and of the period, was sold at Christie’s Hong Kong, 31 May 2010, lot 1913.
