A SANCAI-GLAZED POTTERY FIGURE OF A
COURT LADY
TANG DYNASTY (AD 618-907)
The fgure is shown standing with the head turned slightly
to one side and the hands clasped beneath a shawl draped
around her shoulders that falls in long folds behind her
back. The delicate features of her face are detailed in black
pigment, and her hair is pulled up in a tall coifure.
