A CLOISONNÉ ENAMEL PEAR-SHAPED VASE
QIANLONG SIX-CHARACTER MARK CAST WITHIN A PANEL AND OF THE PERIOD (1736-1795)

The bulbous body is decorated on each side with a shou character encircled by bats and the
Eight Buddhist Emblems, bajiaxiang, on a ground of lotus scroll meander. The tapering neck
is decorated with a dragon leaping amidst scrolling clouds between petal lappet borders at
the midsection and below the mouth rim. The vase is bisected by gilded key-fret borders
encircling the mouth, midsection, and foot.
