           TWO PORCELAIN WALL VASES
           ’Landscape’ wall vase: Republic period;
           ‘Bird and flower’ wall vase: mid-20th century
           Comprising a compressed baluster-form wall vase with a spreading
           foot, broad body, and waisted neck, the shoulders molded with a
           pair of beast-head mock handles, the principal side centered by a
           shaped cartouche enclosing a landscape dominated by blue and green
           mountains and boulders, all against a turquoise-enameled ground
           densely textured with tiny bosses and accented with gilt-painted
           floral details in relief, the base with a reserved square enclosing an
           apocryphal four-character Qianlong seal mark in iron red, the reverse
           enameled turquoise and with a recessed notch for suspension; and
           a ‘clair de lune’-glazed baluster-form wall vase, the body painted in
           overglaze enamels with bird perched on blossoming prunus branches,
           the neck with a poetic inscription in overglaze black enamel, the reverse
           with a recessed notch and four pierced apertures for suspension.
