A SANCAI MOULDED ‘DOUBLE LOZENGE’

QUATREFOIL BOX AND COVER

TANG DYNASTY (618-907)

The box is finely moulded with a be-ribboned double lozenge
picked out in green against an amber-glazed fish-roe ground. The
box and cover are glazed all-over. The underside of the cover and
base of the box each have three tiny spur marks.
