AN UNUSUAL GREEN OVERALY OCHER GLASS ‘ELEPHANT’
SNUFF BOTTLE
1780-1850
Of flattened, rounded rectangular form, the translucent green layer
carved to varying depths to the opaque ocher to depict a caparisoned
elephant, the neck of the bottle encircled with a band below a broad
lip to form a vase that the elephant carries on its back, the feet of the
elephant providing support for the bottle.

A RED OVERLAY SNOWFLAKE GLASS ‘EIGHT HORSES’
SNUFF BOTTLE
1800-1860
Of flattened, ovoid form, surmounted by a short neck with a flat lip, the
red overlay carved to form a neat oval foot ring and the Eight Horses
of Mu Wang in various postures, evenly spaced against the bubble
suffused ground.
