A BLACK AND WHITE DOUBLE OVERLAY SNOWFLAKE GLASS
SNUFF BOTTLE
1800-1880
Of flattened circular shape surmounted by a short waisted neck,
the bubble suffused body overlaid with white on top of black and
carved to form a vignette of magpies perched in a plum tree above a
recumbent deer on one side and two mandarin ducks and insects by
a blossoming lotus on the other, flanked by mock lion mask and ring
handles on the shoulders, all supported on an oval foot ring.

A RARE BROWN AND WHITE DOUBLE OVERLAY PINK GLASS
SNUFF BOTTLE
1820-1880
Of flattened circular shape rising to a tubular neck, the opaque pink
body overlaid with translucent white on top of brown and carved on
each side to form a similar vignette of a magpie perched in a plum
tree looking towards another magpie standing on the rocky ground, all
supported on an oval foot ring surrounding the convex foot.
