The hinged circular box finely worked with
Buddhist emblems, animals, mythical beasts
and dragons on a dense foliate ground with
lotus flower heads, the lid with a ring of inset
turquoise, crowned with a petalled finial,
flanked with a floral catch. 20cm (7 7/8in)

DECORATED STEM CUPS AND COVERS

Comprising: a silver stem cup and cover,
the stupa-form lid and cupped mid-section
finely worked with mythical animals and
figural scenes on a dense scrolling foliate
background; a smaller silver stem cup
and cover, similarly decorated; a possibly
Mongolian flat silver cover worked with figural
scenes; and a gilt-copper tiered cover finely
worked with Buddhist attributes and figural
scenes. The largest: 24cm (9 1/2in) high (8).
