OF A MANDARIN DUCK
The well-carved bird holding a blossoming
lotus sprig in its beak whilst standing on
tumultuous waves, a large lotus pod to the
side, the russet inclusion skilfully incorporated
in the carving to enhance the large lotus leaf
and blossom against the luminous white jade
stone, wood stand.

young, a yin yang symbol amongst clouds
issuing from its mouth, the yellowish green
stone with patches of deep russet, carved

OF A MYTHICAL BEAST
With the body of a lion, and with a bifurcated
curled horn to the front and bifurcated tail;
the recumbent beast well carved, the details
of the eyebrows and tail well defined, the
stone of a very pale tone with streaked russet
inclusions, wood stand.
