Ming Dynasty
The lower body worked in relief with bands of circular bosses, beneath
a rope twist band, the neck with confronting archaistic dragons divided
by flanges, flanked by beast head handles and pierced serpentine
dragons to the lower body, the cover with a luduan final.

16th/17th century
Carved as a ritual vessel with taotie masks to each side in low relief,
flanked with beast-mask and chilong handles, the lid with a feline finial,
wood stand. 7.2cm (2 7/8in) high (3).

18th/19th century
The flattened vase carved in low relief with archaistic motifs of taotie
masks and lappets, the narrow neck flanked with lug handles, raised
on short flaring foot rim.
