A CINNABAR LACQUER ‘BOYS’ SEAL PASTE BOX AND COVER
16th/17th century
The circular lid skilfully carved in low relief with three boys at play
beneath a lychee tree and near a rocky out crop, reserved on a very
fine diaper ground, the cover and box sides with a keyfret border.

A SMALL CINNABAR LACQUER BOX AND COVER
Qianlong
The lid well carved with a flower basket holding a spray of lotus, the
spittoon form vessel with shou roundels and a swing handle, reserved
on a black lacquer diaper ground, the box and cover sides with further
wan and diamond diaper panels. 7.2cm (2 3/4in) diam. (2).

Qing Dynasty
The lobed octagonal cover incised and painted with floral scrolls and
archaistic key fret, the interior black lacquered and embellished with
gilt, the box similarly decorated.
