The oval, globular vessel finely enamelled with
foliate cartouches enclosing floral sprays,
reserved on a background of butterflies and
flowers, with a lappet border at the shoulder.

COVER
Late Ming Dynasty
Finely enamelled with two rows of lotus flower
heads alternated with tulip blossoms, issuing
from a dense ground of leafy scrolling tendrils
on a bright turquoise ground, the base with
a large green five-petal lotus centred on a
yinyang symbol surrounded by small flowers,
the cover similarly decorated with scholar’s
objects with scattered blossoms on cracked-
ice ground.
