Finely pierced and carved with a central
shield shaped cartouche bearing the
monogram ‘EB’ beneath a floral rosette,
within almond shaped panels of pagodas
in river landscapes, all on a finely worked
ground of bird and flower roundels and trailing
blossoming stems, the upper borders with
single flowerspray panels, the guard sticks
carved with dense floral and foliate designs,
fitted box.

Circa 1820-1840
Carved with a Mongolian visitor kneeling on
a mat before a seated official and group of
ladies and dignitaries, gathered in a tree-
strewn riverside garden, the upper register
with panels of figures including farmers,
fishermen, water-carriers and craftsmen, the
guard sticks with the Eight Immortals.

Circa 1820-40
Carved with a central scene depicting a figure
kneeling before a seated dignitary, amongst
further ladies and gentlemen in a garden
of paulownia and bamboo, beneath border
panels of sea shells, the upper register with
confronting dragons pursuing a flaming pearl
and further figures in gardens, the guard
sticks with dragons and phoenix.
