Formed with two arching arms, each painted
with repeating floral motifs to all sides, at the
apex an elaborate stand flanked with C and
S-scrolls, crowned with an open flower head
forming the candle holder.

The cylindrical vessel cold chiselled with
a design of a scholar sage observing a
constellation by the ocean; together with an
unusual unfinished quatre-lobed cloisonné
box and cover decorated with lotus flower
head meanders, the lid similarly decorated
and with a central Kangxi seal mark, Qing
Dynasty. The first 10cm (4in) high (3).
