                     EXHIBITED
Boston, International Chinese Snuf Bottle Society Convention, The Barron Collection,
                     23-26 September 2008.
Lavender, or lilac-colored jadeite probably became available to the Chinese artisans
at much the same time as the better known and more plentiful emerald-green jadeite.
This leaves open the possibility that jadeite pieces of this more exotic coloring could
date from the late eighteenth century and into the early nineteenth century.
