A SMALL FACETED OPAQUE BLUE GLASS
SNUFF BOTTLE
IMPERIAL GLASSWORKS, BEIJING, 1720-1800
The bottle of even blue color seeming to imitate lapis lazuli, is carved
on either side with four facets surrounded by smaller facets. The
narrow sides are also faceted and the fat base is of hexagonal shape.

This is a rare color for imperial glass snuf bottles and is one of
the earlier examples of faceted bottles, also made more unique

The bottle is carved through the caramel overlay to the white
ground with two chilong and bats.
