PROVENANCE
Dennis G. Crow, Los Angeles, California, 1994.
Ruth and Carl Barron Collection, Belmont, Massachusetts, no. 1267.
Banded agate bottles were symbolic of a successful military
career, the band or ‘jade belt’ around the middle evoking the jade
belts worn by oficials. This is an unusual example of the type as it
contains three bands, possibly inferring a very successful career.
