Chapter 1: The Ancestral Secret Map
That morning, sunlight filtered through the pine trees at the base of Mount Kalawan. With
heavy backpacks and spirits high, the six teenage explorers took their first steps toward an
adventure they would remember for the rest of their lives.
Raka was busy tinkering with an emergency communication device.
“This GPS can reach up to 20 kilometers, as long as we’re not blocked by cliffs or caves. But
once we’re inside… don’t count on it too much.”
Tiara took a deep breath.
“I brought rope, a compass, and extra food. We don’t know how long we’ll be in there.”
Gilang opened his notebook.
“According to your grandfather’s manuscript, Nayla, the city is ‘guarded by nature’s riddles
and a traitor.’ Are you sure he wrote that?”
Nayla nodded.
“Yes. That’s what caused him to fail. He didn’t know who he brought along. And he wasn’t
prepared for betrayal.”
They all exchanged glances.
Adit chuckled.
“Oh please, sounds overly dramatic. Who could possibly get betrayed on an adventure like
this?”
No one answered.
After four hours of hiking, they found an old cave marked with the same symbol shown on
the map: a triangle inside a red circle.
“This is it. The first point,” said Nayla. “But this is only the beginning.”
Farel stepped in first.
“Careful. There might be traps.”
They moved slowly, following the damp, mossy corridor. Strange symbols began to appear
on the walls. The first riddle awaited.
But far behind them, Adit slipped something into Gilang’s backpack—a homemade tracking
device. His face was expressionless. Cold. Full of calculation.
“Play your game,” Adit whispered to himself.
“I’ll find the city on my own, and they’ll regret ever underestimating me.”
