Chapter 4: The Lost Trail
The two guardian creatures growled, slowly advancing toward the stone circle where the
explorers stood. Their glowing red eyes locked on the teens. Each step from their massive,
muscular bodies made the ground tremble.
Farel quickly pulled Tiara and Gilang behind one of the pillars.
“We have to find an opening! Don’t fight them!”
“I’m trying to reboot the GPS!” Raka fumbled with the device in his hands, but there was no
signal.
“Damn it... everything’s dead.”
Nayla focused on the statue in the center of the room. Its eyes flickered faintly—there was a
pattern. When the pillar with the Earth symbol glowed, the statue’s eyes lit up brightly.
“I got it!” Nayla shouted. “We have to press the Earth symbol!”
But before she could move, one of the guardians lunged. A claw nearly struck Gilang, but
Farel shoved him out of the way just in time.
Nayla sprinted toward the “Earth” pillar and pressed her hand flat against the symbol.
CLICK!
Instantly, the statue stopped vibrating. The guardians’ roar faded. Their bodies stiffened—
then crumbled into dust.
“We did it…” Nayla gasped for air.
Just as relief set in, Tiara turned around and cried out in panic,
“ADIT? Where’s Adit!?”
Silence. They searched the room, but he was nowhere to be found. The only clue: a small
scratch carved into the stone wall—a simple arrow pointing toward a dark corridor on the
right side of the chamber.
Gilang knelt down and found a torn scrap of his own notebook.
"You’re too slow. I’ll reach the City of Enigma faster. You trust the map too much. I
trust power more." — A.
Nayla clenched her fist.
“He planned this. He trapped us—and carved his own path from the very beginning.”
Farel stepped closer.
“Do we chase him?”
Tiara held him back.
“No. This isn’t about who gets there first. If we rush, we’ll fall into another trap. We need a
strategy.”
