HARRISON GOLF AND LEISURE – THE TEAM
IAN ROBERTSON
DIRECTOR
Ian qualified as a solicitor with Clifford Turner in London and Paris, subsequently gaining
extensive experience of corporate, property and financing transactions in Europe and the
USA.
His roles have included European Counsel, Singer Sewing Machine Company, Corporate
Finance Director, Heron International and Group Administration Director, BET, finally
running the defence team to the Rentokil takeover bid. As a Director, he refinanced the
Arcadian International and Malmaison Group, funding the Malmaison Hotels in
Newcastle and Edinburgh and the redevelopment of the Great Eastern Hotel at Liverpool
St.
As Director of Property at the BBC, he was responsible for the funding and building of
New Broadcasting House in London, the new headquarters for BBC Scotland in Glasgow
and a 50,000 m² of broadcast and office centre at White City, among others.
He then worked with the NHS as the property adviser on the Paddington Health Campus,
a project to unite the Royal Brompton and St Mary's Hospitals and the Imperial Heart and
Lung Institute in a single £800 million new hospital mirroring Royal London and Barts.
After a spell with Development Securities completing three development fundings, as
interim CEO, he managed Dolphin Square Foundation, a charity formed with £100m to
develop affordable homes for people living or working in the City of Westminster.
Most recently he has focused on delivering affordable homes by bringing together local
authorities, RSL's, developers and contractors to take advantage of the private
institutional funding now available to finance their construction and the refurbishment
of existing buildings. He met Phil Harrison at Wildwood in 2016 to finance its hotel
development and they have been working together since then while Ian continues his
support in funding the development of 900 homes in the South of England.
