CGX identifies new prospects at Corentyne
CANADA’S CGX Energy has said it is even
more optimistic about its chances of finding oil
at the Corentyne block offshore Guyana follow-

In a new presentation viewed last week by
OilNOW.gy, CGX highlighted the results of a
3-D seismic survey covering the northern part
of Corentyne.
The company explained that it had taken this
step in light of the discoveries made at Stabroek,
a neighbouring block operated by ExxonMobil
(US), and Block 58, a nearby site offshore Suri-

It also said it had used the data collected in
the survey to develop a “new, robust, low-risk
and high-value” inventory of prospects within
the Corentyne block. This inventory will sup-
plement the existing list of prospects within the
licence area, it stated.
