Canadian consolidation
Canada’s Whitecap Resources has struck a deal to acquire Torc Oil & Gas in
an all-stock deal valued at around CAD565mn ($442mn).
Cutting spending
Chevron followed rival super-major ExxonMobil in announcing a cut to its
capital expenditure budget last week.
Preparing to drill
Australia-based 88 Energy has farmed out 50% of Project Peregrine in
Alaska and has executed a contract to drill two wells at the site.
