Dermal Puncture Part 6

• Be sure to make the

puncture deep enough to

collect the amount of

blood needed

• Wipe away the first drop

of blood

• Use a microcollection

device to collect the

specimen

NOTE: This procedure will cause pain, so be sure to collect an

adequate amount of blood initially to prevent repeat sticks.
