Reflection: This devotion reminds me of the springtime when I
was much younger, we had several dogwood trees on our farm.
The blossoms were so beautiful. It indicated the end of winter
(death) and the beginning of a new life. It is hard to believe they
were used to build the cross that Jesus was crucified on. Just like
the end of winter, the crucifixion and resurrection bring new life
for those who believe.

A Brand New Life
Scripture: Romans 6:4
4 Therefore, we were buried with Him through this baptism into
death so that just as God the Father, in all His glory, resurrected
the Anointed One, we, too, might walk confidently out of the
grave into a new life.
April will be here before we know it. And I for one cannot wait!
I am going to have a new Granddaughter! As I anticipate the birth
of this baby, a baby that God loves, even more than I do or her
parents do, it is so hard to image this. As I shout my excitement
and have a spring in my step anticipating her arrival, I think of the
excitement in the streets on Palm Sunday.
On that first Palm Sunday they did not know the whole story yet.
They did not know that one week later, the stone would be rolled
away at the tomb where Jesus laid and that the tomb would be
open. As I think of the open tomb, I think of new life, a life
without sin. Jesus died on the cross for our sins and rose again.
When he rose our life began a new, without sin at that moment.
Just like when a baby is born and they open their eyes for the first
time, I don’t know about you, but to me, you are looking right into
God’s eyes. For no one else could ever make such a miracle as a
new born baby. I cannot wait for my granddaughter to be placed
into my arms, then to look into Rosalind’s eyes!
“Open my eyes, that I may see glimpses of truth thou hast for me;
place in my hands the wonderful key that shall unclasp and set me free.
