Never Let Anyone Ever Steal Your Sparkle!

Scripture: John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his
one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish
           but have eternal life.

I recently learned that a very dear friend of mine was diagnosed
with an inoperable form of cancer. She entered hospice care
shortly after receiving the news from her doctor. When she told
me of her diagnosis, I was overcome with sadness. When she saw
my sadness, she placed her hand on mine and said, “Please don’t
cry. My earthly body may die, but my spiritual body will live for
eternity in the Kingdom of God. I will have a new body in Christ.
I will have no more pain. Please don’t be afraid. I’m not fearful at
all. I am ready. My faith is so strong, and I am prepared for Jesus
to take my hand and lead me to my eternal Home.”
I admire my friend for her courage and grace. What an amazing
testimony to the promise of eternal life! This promise is told in 54
           separate bible verses!
Christ died, was crucified and rose from the dead for our sins. As
it is written in the Bible, all followers of Christ have the promise
of the same resurrection and life everlasting. We will live in
Heaven eternally without illness, without cancer, without pain,
and without sadness. Isn’t that an amazing promise?

Prayer: Gracious and Heavenly Father: We are humbled by your
promise of everlasting life. I pray that we all will have the faith
and courage of my beloved friend. May we, too, grow to know her
peace and serenity, especially during this Lenten season, a season
of remembrance of the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ, our
           rock and our redeemer.
