Prayer: Thank you for your Glory that shines in us and Thank
You for your warmth and comfort. Thank you for loving us and
keeping us safe. Amen.

Christian Friendship
Scripture: “One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin,
but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.” Proverbs
18:24
Anyone who knows me, knows that I do not take part in
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and so on. I have never felt that to
know things about my friends, I needed to look to the internet. I
am more of a “hear it from you” type person. I figure if my
friends want me to know what’s going on with them, they will
share it with me.
I would like to think, that I am a person who has friends to talk
with no matter the situation. People who I can share my inner
most feelings and thoughts with.
Have you ever thought about how maybe, social media has
created the illusion of companionship or friendship? One can
have hundreds of Facebook ‘friends’ and tens of thousands of
Twitter followers without a single deep friendship or meaningful
relationship. And yet, we often hear coaches, teachers, pastors,
etc. say that ‘It’s all about relationships.”
Relationships can make you or break you. Even your destiny
relies on having the most important relationship with Jesus. The
Bible verse I chose, reminds us of the importance of a true friend.
Jesus never meant for us to walk alone. We need each other, for
love, encouragement, comfort and trust. Everyone needs friends.
Now more than ever, I wonder if it isn’t better for us to put down
our phones and connect with each other, one on one.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, Let us make our relationships, fulfilling and
meaningful. Help us to strengthen our relationships not only with
