Page 5 - Revised thinking of selling
P. 5
is your house ready?
THINKING OF SELLING ?
WHAT COULD DECREASE YOUR HOME’S VALUE?
Maybe your home was a renovation
project you started a while back and
has a few unfinished area’s – are you
wanting to sell it as a Reno? Or are you
wanting to finish it?
Permits and council consents mean a lot
to buyers – make it easy for them if you
are selling a reno and ensure to have
everything ticked off, ready for them to
get on the tools.
It will make it more motivating and
exciting to know they can just jump
straight into it.
With that said.. normally a building
inspection is done when a conditional
offer is made.
BUT WHY WAIT ?
The outcome may lose the sale or end
up being a shock if there are repairs
that need to be made to complete the
sale or worse yet – the price declines as
the buyer takes on the responsibility of
the repairs. i.e. drainage, roofing,
plumbing etc..
Pay now, get an inspection done, know
what your working with and be able to
fix it in your own budget and time frame,
if you choose to. This could be more
beneficial than paying for kitchen and
bathroom upgrades as we mention next.
