                                      Dr. Tung-Jung Huang,

                                      Superintendent of Chang Gung

                                      Memorial Hospital, Yunlin

          After completing his internal medicine and pulmonary & critical care training

     at Chang Gung Memorial Hospital, Dr. Tung-Jung Huang earned his Ph.D. from
     Imperial College London in 1999. In 2002, he founded the Division of Pulmonary
     Medicine at Chiayi Chang Gung Memorial Hospital. For his contributions during
     the 2004 SARS outbreak, he received a Merit Award from the Ministry of Health

     and Welfare. He played a key role in establishing Yunlin Chang Gung Memorial
     Hospital and became its inaugural superintendent in late 2009.
          Located in the medically underserved coastal area of Yunlin, he led the
     hospital in providing 24-hour emergency and inpatient care, achieving high marks

     in national hospital accreditations. The hospital also earned certifications as a
     Smoke-Free Hospital and an Age-Friendly Hospital. In 2018, he established the
     Yunlin Community Health Care Center, promoting community wellness with
     notable success in hepatitis C prevention and treatment. He was honored with

     the Yunlin Medical Dedication Award in 2014 and the Medical Leadership
     Excellence Award in 2022.
          During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Huang led the hospital’s response efforts
     and was recognized by the President of Taiwan in 2021. He also received a Special

     Contribution Award for Pandemic Prevention from the Taiwan Medical
     Association.
          Beyond clinical service, Dr. Huang serves as an advisor to the Ministry of
     Health and Welfare, a reviewer for the National Health Insurance Administration,

     and a medical consultant in Yunlin. He is a certified clinical educator, former
     Associate Editor of the Journal of Thoracic Medicine, and Editor of the Chang
     Gung Medical Journal. He has taught at Chang Gung University, Taipei Medical
     University, and Chang Gung University of Science and Technology, contributing to

     the development of Taiwan's healthcare workforce.
