The American Society of Ocularists

                                            from 1970 through 1980:

                                            A Decade of Progress








                                               Charles L. Workman became an American Society of Ocularist (ASO)
                                               Member in 1963. Charles immediately got involved with the American
                                               Society of Ocularists taking on the role as President in 1967, 1968 and 1971.
                                               For his academic and technical achievements, he was elected as an ASO
                                               Fellow in 1978. The A.D. Ruedemann Lecture award was presented to him
                                               in 1979. His involvement continued as he was the ASO Education Chairman
                                               from 1980–1988. In 1986, the Lee Allen Award was presented to him for his
                                               outstanding achievements in ocular prosthetics. He was elected an ASO
                                               Honorary Member in 1991.

                                               Walter J. Johnson became an ASO Member in 1975. He was ASO
                                               President 1993, 1994, and 2016. Walter served as the Editor of the Journal
                                               of Ophthalmic Prosthetics from 1986–1991, as well as from 2017–2018.
